Much has happened in 2025, largely in our personal lives, but also within our Relief by Chase massage studio. Sadly, this past year we've said goodbye to several clients who have passed on. Our hearts are with their families as we fondly remember our interactions and mourn their passing. At the same time, we have also gained new clients, learned and refined efficient processes. There is much to contemplate. Here is Relief by Chase's 2025 reflection as we enter the new year.
Praise Reports
We've had the pleasure of assisting several clients with injuries, some of whom have ceased maintenance due to the healing of their injuries or other goals. This is bittersweet as we're delighted that they feel better, but we're sad that we no longer get to see them as frequently.
Other instances include Chase impressing the socks off of new clients. This is always a delight and an affirmation that we're on the right path in making a difference among our clientele.
Noteworthy Moments
Our most noteworthy moments are when we receive new clients and blow them away with our services. Chase said, "I had a client that was extraordinarily frustrated in his lack of progress and visited me as a last resort, per his wife’s insistence. He came in and actually felt better afterwards, stating 'Why can’t other people do this?'" This new client replied to a follow-up text that he enthusiastically will return for another session and also left a shinning review on Google for us. In addition to these moments,
Chase reflected on his joy with another client who came to us post-shoulder surgery and through a series of sessions, was able to rehabilitate her shoulder in about 3-4 months in conjunction with her physical therapy work. This is the relief we strive to provide all our clients.
RbC's Most Popular Media
Observing trends is always interesting to gauge what adds value to our clients and this past year, we had a few unexpected popular posts and videos. Here are some hot hits among our clients from 2025.
Newsletter -- March 2025 Newsletter with 78 opened emails.
Blog Post -- Featured Product: GAIAM Flat Bands with 31 views.
YouTube Video -- Massage Demo: Face Sinuses with 105 views.
This Year's Challenges
This year was a bit unusual in that during the summer when we usually see a steep increase in appointments, we received below average clients coming through our doors. Sometimes this occurs with uncertain times whether it's in response to political or familial shifts, or is simply circumstantial. We all have had a lot transpiring this past year. Despite this unexpected trend, we were able to finish 2025 strongly.
Another challenge Chase noted is when clients remain tense during their massage. "Since people don’t get massages often, they’re usually tense during session until trust and familiarity are established. Keeping the body tense during session can be counterproductive to massage therapy progress." (Chase)
Growth Points
Our main growth point is retaining consistent clientele. Due to sparse and inconsistent bookings during this past year, we had to consolidate the days that we offer massages in attempt to consolidate appointments.
Other Interview Q&As:
How do you describe your work to your peers?
Chase: “I touch people.”
Caitlin: "I’m a woman of many hats."
Why does your work matter?
Chase: "Because I’m helping people physically, mentally, emotionally, in some way."
Caitlin: "Everyone needs healing, and massage therapy addresses a lot of injuries and ailments. My part in the business is to help inform others as to why this is, deepen their understanding on other related topics, and address their requests with scheduling and/or payment."
How has your role changed over time?
Chase: "I went from just being a therapist to running a business. I spend more time on laundry than I used to."
Caitlin: "Much more multitasking and taking on more tasks and responsibilities. I spend less time reminding clients of appointments (thanks to our online booking service) and more time creating content."
How has your work contributed to your personal growth?
Chase: "Accountability and responsibility."
Caitlin: "I’m learning more efficient use of wording and methods for blog research, filming videos, and communicating with clients."
What's your favorite part of your job?
Chase: "When people feel and notice the results. I like meeting new clients and blowing their minds, but especially exceeding clients’ expectations and giving them relief."
Caitlin: "Clients’ joy or creating content that adds value to their lives."
How have our core values evolved?
Chase: "[They've] expanded - We’ve always cared and wanted to help. We still have the same core values, they’ve just expanded. As you develop relationships with the clients, our core values run deeper."
Caitlin: "Communication has risen up as a core value since clarity is key!"
Conclusion and Future Growth
We have multiple areas of growth to celebrate and expand upon for the coming year. While we have lost some clients, we have gained others, and will continue striving to provide excellent service and insightful posts for your deepening understanding. Our goals for this coming year is to provide consistent content posts as well as looking into building upon our marketing efforts with the intention of expanding our business.
